According to Spanish outlet AS, Manchester United summer signing Alvaro Fernandez has been backed to succeed at Old Trafford by his former youth team coaches at Real Madrid.

The 17-year-old left-back turned down an offer from the Los Blancos this summer to sign for the Red devils as he opens up a new chapter in his career in English football.

The highly-rated young defender has teamed up with the club’s academy and has already featured for both our U18 and U23 sides.

The player is viewed as one for the future and will train with the senior side to get him ready for first team football in the near future.
