Former Liverpool defender, Jamie Carragher, has revealed he doesn’t see the reason Manchester United signed Donny van de Beek.
The Dutchman was again, an unused substitute for the Red Devils, as Olé Gunnar Solskjaer’s side played out a goalless draw at home against Chelsea.
Speaking after the game, Caragher said he doesn’t see how the 23 year old fits in for United with their current midfield set up.
He said: “Van de Beek, I don’t understand the signing, I really don’t get it, how he was ever going to play or where he’s going to fit in.
“As soon as he signed I thought he plays No 10, Fernandes plays there, Pogba can play there.
“It’s actually better for the team having Fred and McTominay in there. But having Fred and McTominay is not good enough for Manchester United to win the league either.”
Gary Neville has suggested the midfielder’s situation needs to be addressed ASAP or he may begin to regret signing for the Red Devils in the first place.
