Harry Maguire finally reacts to critics asking for penalty against him in the Chelsea game

Manchester United captain, Harry Maguire, has given his critics the best response, following talk that a penalty should have been awarded against him in the game involving Manchester United and Chelsea at Old Trafford last weekend.

Replays had shown the 27 year old seeming to pull Chelsea captain, Cesar Azpilicueta, to the ground during a corner kick, and it resulted in many calling for a penalty to be given to the visitors.

The referee, Martin Atkinson didn’t spot the alleged foul, and VAR ignored calls for it to be checked, and at the end of the match, Frank Lampard was left livid, as he criticised the refs for missing such a moment.

Well, Maguire has now taken to his Instagram to reply anyone who thinks VAR was unfair to Chelsea.

In what seemed a direct response to Chelsea fans and their boss, Maguire shared a photo from an older match, which showed Reece James doing something similar to him, while the refs also looked the other way.

Of course, we’re not saying apparent fouls shouldn’t be called, but in a situation like the one from last weekend, when both VAR and the ref didn’t care enough to give a penalty, everyone else should also move on.
