Manchester United legend, Ryan Giggs, has said his former side have been missing a player like Alex Telles, who joined recently on transfer deadline day.
The Brazilian enjoyed a successful spell with FC Porto before making the switch to Old Trafford, with an impressive 26 goals and 57 assists to his credit.
He’s yet to score for his new side, but Giggs is confident he can be as important as Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson.
Speaking on the Webby & O’Neil YouTube Channel, the Wales manager said, “Telles, I think that’s something we’ve been missing.
“You look at Liverpool, Trent and Robertson – the goals and assists that they provide.
“Now, full-backs have to have that in their armour. If the wingers are coming in, the full-backs have to create the width and make goals.”
Telles has shown signs he’s already adapting well to the Man United style, and it’s only a matter of time before we see him being rated as one of the best fullbacks in the league.
The Red Devils play an unpredictable Chelsea side next, and it would be good to see us keep up the good work.
