French midfielder, Paul Pogba, has revealed the reason he didn’t start the UEFA Champions League clash between Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain.
The 27 year old was brought in as a substitute for the efficient Fred, and he helped create Man United’s winner for the night.
Speaking to RMC Sport on not starting, Pogba said, “It [his substitution against PSG] was prepared.
“We had prepared well for the match. We know that they are very strong offensively, and we had to block that. Afterwards, we started especially well and we had chances. [We] managed to score.
“We knew what awaited us [in Paris]. All the players were ready for this match — the result came as it should have come. They had chances, we also had some and we materialised. The result is positive.”
Meanwhile, the coach, Olé Gunnar Solskjaer has been hailed for the tactics he employed in the match, which has now seen the Red Devils win 11 consecutive away matches.
