Pogba given stern warning by United

Manchester United have reportedly told Paul Pogba not to expect a bumper pay rise in order to stay at Old Trafford beyond 2022.

The Frenchman remains an important player for the Red Devils, who want to keep him beyond his current deal, and are even willing to make a significant offer to that effect— but ESPN reports that Olé Gunnar Solskjaer and Ed Woodward are in agreement not to break the current wage structure for any player, including Pogba.

The club are desperate not to throw itself in the same position it was with Alexis Sanchez, who received around £390k a week (plus an additional £90k for each match he played), despite offering little.

The report comes amid recent comments by Pogba, where he openly admitted to wanting to play for Real Madrid at some point in his career.
