Solskjaer warned not to use this formation against PSG

Manchester United legend Mikael Silvestre has warned manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer against playing a back-five against PSG on Tuesday night’s Champions League opener.

“United should stick to a back four because just adding someone to your back-line doesn’t necessarily stop [Kylian] Mbappe or Neymar,” Silvestre said.

“They are that good. Also United need to dominate in midfield where Paris are very good.

“It’s important for United to stick with what they do best and historically they perform better with four at the back. We have to take that risk to be the best we can be.”

Despite the warning from Silvestre, Solskjaer has opted to play with a back five against PSG.
