Manchester United skipper Harry Maguire will not be a part of the squad to face Paris Saint-Germain in our Champions League opening clash on Tuesday night, due to injury.
Manchester United midfielder, Bruno Fernandes, who only joined the club in January, has been named captain for this clash, and it has come as a shock to the Portuguese midfielder.
Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made this known while addressing the media today, as he revealed that Maguire won’t be available.
“We hope Harry will be fit for the weekend,” said the United boss.
“The captain sits next to me, Bruno will captain the team tomorrow.”
A surprised Fernandes responded with pride, saying: “I was not expecting this – I found out this the same time as you! It is an honour, an important achievement for me.
“The captain is everyone – everyone needs to help, be a leader on their way. The leadership is different in every player. It is not about me, but about the team.”
