Manchester United manager, Olé Gunnar Solskjaer has explained his decision to bench Paul Pogba in the clash against Newcastle on Saturday.
Some fans had been left surprised and furious after the starting lineup was revealed and the Frenchman wasn’t included, but the gaffer has revealed the 27 year old wasn’t fit after all.
He told Sky Sports after the match, “Paul had hip and back problems when he was away with France.
“So it wasn’t right to start him. We have got big games coming up. Everyone has to perform when they come on. I am delighted for him.”
Pogba was influential in France games during the international break, and we’ll no doubt be needing his contribution in the coming days.
Hopefully, his condition isn’t serious and he can be available for the match against Paris Saint-Germain next week.
