AS Roma are reportedly very certain they can complete the acquisition of Chris Smalling from Manchester United in the coming days, after talks between both sides seemed to be deadlocked.
The Red Devils are demanding up to £18 million for Smalling, who recently returned to Old Trafford from Roma after a season long loan move, and the Italian club are said to be edging closer to matching the valuation, despite their initial refusal.
Sky Sports reports that personal terms will not be an issue for the deal, as a three year contract is believed to be on the table for Smalling.
The Englishman is currently training away from the rest of the squad, having decided on leaving Old Trafford this summer, after being told he’s not a part of Olé Gunnar Solskjaer’s plans.
Meanwhile, the transfer window closes on October 5, and Manchester United are believed to be working hard to get some new faces into the team.
