Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has continued his war of words with Spurs manager Jose Mourinho over their easy Carabao Cup qualification.
When asked if one of the positives of playing in the Carabao Cup is playing lesser games to get ahead, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer promptly replied: “It depends how you want to get there, you’ve got teams getting there even without playing, even to this round!
“It’s a competition you always want to go far in and you always want to try to give experience to the young kids as well and the squad needs to feel that we’re together,
“If you only play one XI that’s not great at times. So for us we want to win and give that feeling that it’s important this season.”
The Norwegian was actually referring to Spurs’ easy route to the fourth round after their third-round clash against Leyton Orient was declared a walkover due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Meanwhile, the North Londoners beat Chelsea on penalties to qualify for the quarter-final.
