Solskjaer confirms Manchester United player is yet to return to training

Ahead of Saturday’s Premier League game against Crystal Palace at Old Trafford, Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed Manchester United goalkeeper Sergio Romero is yet to return to training.

Speaking to the press on Friday, Solskjaer said: “Sergio [Romero] has not come back yet. He’s had some extra time.”

Romero reportedly wants to leave Manchester United this summer following the return of Dean Henderson from his loan spell at Sheffield United.

The return of Henderson leaves Romero with little hope of getting first-team football this season with Henderson set to battle David De Gea for the No.1 jersey.

The 33-year-old failed to make an appearance in the Premier League last season, but played nine games in the Europa League before being benched for De Gea in the semi-final defeat to Sevilla.
