According to reports, Manchester United have lost out in the pursuit Serie A defender Marash Kumbulla who is set to join Roma from Hellas Verona.
The player is believed to have agreed terms with the Giallorossi who have won the race to sign the highly-rated defender, amid rival interest from Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, Lazio and Inter Milan.
The young centre-back was impressive in his Serie A debut season for Hellas playing 26 times for hometown club Hellas Verona last season.
According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, the player will move on an initial loan deal before a permanent transfer on a contract to 2025 which will cost in the region of £23m.
The deal will also see Roma defender Mert Cetin move to Hellas Verona.
Meanwhile, it is believed that Roma’s move for Kumbulla may impact their bid for Manchester United defender Chris Smalling.
