Tottenham Hotspur may have become favourites to clinch want-away forward, Gareth Bale from Real Madrid, after recently expressing their interest in the player.
Manchester United have been linked with a move for the player in recent times, but ESPN reports that Tottenham boss, José Mourinho, has told the club’s management he desperately needs attacking reinforcement, to ease the goalscoring pressure on Harry Kane.
The report adds that, while Bale is excited to play at Old Trafford, United are only considering him as a backup, should their main targets fail to sign.
Olé Gunnar Solskjaer is still hopeful Jadon Sancho will be sold by Borussia Dortmund, but in case the deal falls apart, the Norwegian will consider Bale.
The Welshman’s £600k a week salary is a potential obstacle to a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu, but Madrid are reportedly willing to pay half of it, in their desperation to offload the 31 year old.
