Manchester United target Jack Grealish has signed a five year contract with Aston Villa, to confirm his stay at Villa Park.
The 24 year old has been linked with a move to Old Trafford for months now, but the move never quite seemed like it would happen, with Villa demanding up to £80 million for their playmaker.
United have also gone and signed former Ajax man, Donny van de Beek, for £40 million, which pretty much ended all hopes of Grealish joining them.
Speaking after signing his new contract, Grealish said, “I am delighted to make this commitment to Villa. It is my club, my home and I am very happy here.”
The Englishman was also reported to be keen on the Man United move, but clearly, it probably wasn’t meant to be.
Grealish’s new deal comes barely a week after he made his debut for the England national team, after initially getting snubbed by Gareth Southgate.
