Former Manchester United forward, Dimitar Berbatov, has reminded Olé Gunnar Solskjaer of the need to add more options to his defence this summer, as the club prepares to compete for titles this season.
Solskjaer has multiple attacking options upfront, with Mason Greenwood, Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford all among Europe’s top scorers last season.
Berbatov is of the belief that signing a centre-back is what matters most for the club.
United’s midfield is also looking really strong, after the arrival of Bruno Fernandes last season, with Paul Pogba, and new signing, Donny van de Beek, also adding some variety to it.
But United’s business is far from done, if they want to win titles this season, and they must strengthen the right departments to avoid wasteful spending, according to ex-player, Dimitar Berbatov.
Asked to share his opinion on who United need recently, the Bulgarian said, “Centre back, for sure, needs to be the priority in my opinion.
“Who that is going to be and if they are going to buy a player I don’t think we will find out until the end of the window, but that should be the priority, along with right back.”
Man United have invested most of their time in trying to negotiate a deal with Borussia Dortmund for England international, Jadon Sancho, but many experts are of the opinion the investment is better off channelled elsewhere in the team.
