Manchester United player accused of embarrassing the club

Scotland legend Ally McCoist has slammed Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood of embarrassing the club after he defied Covid-19 protocols to bring in girls into the England camp in Iceland.

He has branded the action of Greenwood and also Manchester City player Phil Foden as stupid and has thinks they’ve blown away their chances of playing for The Three Lions again.

Speaking on talkSPORT about the Iceland debacle, legendary Scotland striker Ally McCoist said: “It’s an act of complete stupidity. The level of punishment is there for everybody to see and it will be interesting to see what Gareth Southgate does moving on.

“The embarrassment and the hassle they’ve caused everybody, England and the two Manchester clubs… I have no doubt Southgate will have sat these players down in meetings and said, ‘these are the protocols, these is what we can do, this is what we can’t do’, and they’ve just absolutely blown it. They’ve blown it!”

Meanwhile, both players have apologised for their actions.
