Liverpool centre back, Virgil van Dijk, has revealed he’s eager to see Netherlands teammate, Donny van de Beek, in the Premier League, while wishing him well.
The £40 million-rated midfielder is set to become Olé Gunnar Solskjaer’s first signing of the summer, after agreeing terms with Man United.
But despite the clear rivalry between United and Liverpool, Van Dijk told reporters he’s happy for the deal because it is a positive one for the Dutch national team.
He told The Telegraph: “I wish Donny the best wholeheartedly.
“It is great for him and for the Dutch national team.
“It’s a great club and step for Donny, and the same goes for Nathan Ake (to Manchester City).”
Van de Beek has been called up for Netherland’s upcoming UEFA Nations League games against Italy and Poland, but will not be joining up with his teammates for training as early as initially expected, due to reasons relating to his move to United.
