Former Manchester United striker Louis Saha has urged the club to re-sign former player Memphis Depay.
The Dutchman appears to be back to his best at Lyon, and Saha believes the player is fired up and mentally ready to show the quality he has.
Speaking on the Football Index Podcast, former Old Trafford striker Louis Saha said: “I wasn’t a fan of Memphis Depay when he was originally at the club because I don’t think he was mentally ready.
“But he has improved dramatically and proved to be a major force in Ligue 1. Depay has really matured and has become a leader in an exciting Lyon team.
“He has always had the quality to play at the top level and I think he would be very motivated to return to Old Trafford and prove he is good enough.”
Meanwhile, the club have an option to bring Depay back for a fee of £35 million.
The Dutchman left Old Trafford in January 2017 after falling down the pecking order at the club under Jose Mourinho, starting just one game across all competitions that season. The 26-year-old managed to reboot his career in France, scoring 54 goals in 138 games for Lyon.
