Bruno Fernandes has written a heartfelt message to fans of Manchester United, following the club’s sad exit from the Europa League.
United were tipped to go far in the competition, and looked on course do so, after a string of strong performances.
However, against Sevilla, the team didn’t show up as expected, as they were beaten 2-1 by Julen Lopetegui’s men.
This now means the Red Devils will finish the campaign without a single trophy.
Reacting to the defeat and lack of silverware for the club this season, Bruno Fernandes, who has been a shinning light since switching from Sporting Lisbon, wrote on his Instagram, “Unfortunately our journey in the Europa League ends here.
“It wasn’t what we expected. We wanted to be in the final and fight for the trophy we so desired. Whilst we congratulate Sevilla for making it to the final, we still played well and we didn’t deserve to stop here.
The Portuguese added, “It is now time for rest and to reflect so that we come back even stronger and reach the goals we set ourselves for the next season!
“Thank you to all my team-mates and staff who welcomed me so well over these past months at the Red Devils.
“I hope to continue to learn and grow every day with you, and that we may conquer many titles in the future. Together we lose, together we make mistakes and together we grow.”
Bruno Fernandes was on target for United against Sevilla, but unfortunately, his calmly executed penalty wasn’t enough to see the team through to the final.
