Arsenal have beaten Manchester United to the signing of Lille centre back, Gabriel Magalhaes, according to reports.
The Brazilian defender had an excellent season with Lille last season, and helped them to fourth place in the French Ligue One, before the season was cancelled due to coronavirus fears.
His stellar performances earned him suitors from across Europe, which included Manchester United, Arsenal and Napoli, but it appears the Gunners have beaten everyone to his signing, after agreeing a deal with Lille.
If the report is true, it now means that Olé Gunnar Solskjaer will have to look elsewhere for reinforcements, as he searches for a left-footed centre back to partner Harry Maguire.
A good alternative would be Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly, who is rated as one of the best in the world, but he will not come cheap, as Napoli will try to recoup some of the money they spent on signing Victor Osimhen from Lille.
