Following Sevilla’s 2-1 Europa League victory over Manchester United on Sunday night, Sevilla boss Julen Lopetegui hailed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Manchester United team as the best Manchester United team in the last few years.
“This is the best Manchester United of the last few years and the form team in England, so it is normal that we had to suffer,” Sevilla boss Julen Lopetegui said at the post-match press conference, as quoted by the Daily Mail.
“This was a team effort. If you beat a team like United in a semi-final, you have to do it as a unit. That’s what we did tonight. I’m really proud of my team. We are very excited for the final, but it will be the hardest game yet and we have to prepare.”
Manchester United have lost 2-1 to Sevilla in the Europa League semi-final. The Reds have finished without a major trophy for the third season in a row – for the first time since the period between 1987 and 1989.
