Reputable sports and transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, has insisted Manchester United are still interested in signing Jadon Sancho, despite other reports in media.
Borussia Dortmund had included the player in their team to take part in their pre-season games, and reportedly offered him an improved contract to ward off United’s interest.
The German club’s sporting director, Michael Zorc, had also revealed the player would be staying with them, while speaking to the media on Monday.
But Fabrizio, during a recent appearance on the PodSaveTheBall Podcast, said the Red Devils are still keen on the player, and will continue to try to sign him until October 5, when the transfer window officially closes.
In his words, “Jadon Sancho saga over? At the moment, according to Manchester United and according to who’s working on the deal, not yet.
“It’s not over. It’s over on the 5th October [when the transfer window closes]. That is Man United’s mentality – we want to sign the player, we want to try again and we are convinced we can do it in the next weeks.”
Sancho has reportedly already agreed personal terms with United, and Dortmund’s £108 million valuation of the 20 year old remains the only obstacle to him putting pen to paper.
