Borussia Dortmund midfielder, and former Liverpool man, Emre Can, may have just added more confirmation to reports that Jadon Sancho’s move to Old Trafford is off for now.
Manchester United were confident of landing the 20 year old this summer, but after failing to meet Dortmund’s £109 million valuation of the star on the August 10 deadline, the German club have insisted he’s no longer for sale.
Can also seemed to re-echo the same thing recently, while speaking to Ruhr Nachrichten.
When asked about the Englishman’s long-term future, the German revealed his delight at finding out he’ll be with them next season.
He said, “I’m personally very happy that Jadon is staying.
“For me he is already a world class player. He’s very, very important to the team. I hope he will continue to score many goals and help us as a team to win as many games as possible.”
Meanwhile, United appear to be working on alternatives to the winger, should the deal truly fail to happen.
So far this week, the Red Devils have been rumoured to be interested in signing either of Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembele and Kai Havertz from Bayer Leverkusen.
