Anthony Martial has emerged the leading goalscorer at Manchester United this season, after scoring our second goal against LASK Linz, in the Europa League, on Wednesday.
Marcus Rashford had enjoyed the honour with Martial, by the end of the Premier League season, but the Frenchman has overcome him with his latest strike.
However, Rashford has made it clear he isn’t at all concerned about individual honours, as the team’s success is all that matters.
The Englishman made this known on Twitter, as he reacted to a tweet from the official Man United handle, which made reference to the number of goals scored by both players.
The tweet read, “Anthony Martial: 23 goals, Marcus Rashford: 22 goals. Wednesday’s late winner meant Anto edged ahead in the #MUFC golden boot stakes,” to which Rashy simply replied, “Tony wins, I win, we all win. That’s my guy.”
It’s good to see the sportsmanship that exists between our boys, as that can only help the togetherness in the team to grow even further.
Meanwhile, both players and Mason Greenwood have been nominated for the inaugural ‘Premier League Young player of the season’ award. We wish them luck!
