Former Aston Villa man, Darren Bent, has explained why he thinks Manchester United won’t be signing Jack Grealish this summer.
According to the ex-striker, United are focused on signing Jadon Sancho, who is their primary target this summer, and considering the hefty fee he commands, it’s unlikely they’ll want to sign another expensive player after him.
Speaking to Football Insider, Bent said, “At the minute he needs to weigh up and think about where he’s going to go – he could stay at Aston Villa where he’s the captain, the main man and his boyhood club and he knows he’d be a god if he was to stay.
“He’s not going to go to Manchester United because they’ve got Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba already and I know you need a squad but even at the minute it looks like they’re hell-bent on getting Jadon Sancho so he’s [Grealish] not going to go there.”
Villa are said to be asking for at least, £80 million for Grealish, who helped them secure safety in the Premier League last season, and were recently said to have offered him an improved contract worth £100k a week.
