On Wednesday, many Manchester United fans expected to see Diogo Dalot file out for the club in our Europa League round of 16 with LASK Linz, after missing a large part of the Premier League campaign.
However, the Portugal international didn’t play, and in his place, Olé Gunnar Solskjaer deployed the impressing Timothy Fosu-Menash.
But it has now been revealed that Dalot didn’t play because he has been dealing with an injury challenge for a while now, after picking up a knock in one of the team’s recent training sessions.
The 21 year old was spotted arriving Carrington on a number of occasions in the last couple of days, but it wasn’t to train. Apparently, he was coming to get treatment for the injury.
Dalot has struggled for game time this season, with his last match for the club coming in the 2-1 win over Norwich in the FA Cup quarter finals.
He’s without a doubt a very talented footballer, even though Fosu-Menash seems ahead of him in the pecking order.
We’re hopeful Dalot returns to total fitness soon, but more than that, it is delighting to see the team win on Wednesday, even without our main players.
