Former Manchester United star Phil Neville has questioned the club’s interest in signing Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish.
He has called on the club to sign a right-sided winger rather than another number 10.
Phil Neville told the Webby & O’Neill YouTube channel: “People are talking about Grealish… now with Bruno Fernandes in there, do we need another No.10?
“I think the right-hand side is probably our biggest area of where we need to improve – an out and out right-sided winger.
“You think about the great Man United sides… [David] Beckham, [Andrei] Kanchelskis, [Cristiano] Ronaldo played on the right hand side, Ole Gunnar played on the right hand side.
“So I think right hand side is the one big hole in the squad. United have not really had anyone since Antonio Valencia really.
“Sancho can obviously play out there and play it really well and you’d say that’s someone that would fit the profile.
“You think [Marcus] Rashford, [Mason] Greenwood – English players – and Fernandes, young, hungry. Sancho is one that fits into that.”
