Attacking wise, the 2019/20 season is one of the best Manchester United has had in recent years.
Not only were they scoring for fun, most of the club’s goals were provided by players aged 26 or younger.
The combination of Mason Greenwood, Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford in attack always proved potent and deadly for the opposition, with a total of 44 goals coming from them throughout the campaign.
That number makes up 94% of United’s overall tally last season, and places us ahead of other Premier League teams, when it comes to goal involvements from youth.
The closest club to United on the table are Aston Villa, who got 80% of their goals from players under 26. Everton are third, with 73%, while league champions, Liverpool only got a 12% goal contribution from youth.
This stat is surely heartwarming, and more than anything, proves Olé Gunnar Solskjaer’s faith in youth is paying off handsomely.
