Former United star rates the club’s chances of winning the Premier League next season

Former Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov has expired optimism Manchester United can win the Premier League next season if they improve.

The former Red Devil made this known, while speaking recently on BetFair.

Accordingly to Berbatov, Olé Gunnar Solskjaer and United have done well this season, but they must now, go the extra mile to challenge Liverpool and Manchester City for the title because that’s what people expect from a club of its status.

He said: “It’s been a challenging few years, but the fact remains that United need to be challenging for the title.

“They need to improve again to challenge Man City and Liverpool next season, but they can do it.

“Every season is different and has its unique ups and downs, the teams you expect don’t always end up doing well, but with United you always expect them to be title contenders, especially if they make some signings.”

He added, “There will always be doubters, but overall people will realise managers need time to build.

“There are obstacles, of course, but in the future things can improve, and Ole has shown that.”

Man United haven’t won the Premier League since 2013/13, during Sir Alex Ferguson’s final season in charge, but the club has shown positive signs in recent weeks.

With a few decent signings and the right mentality, things should be different moving on.
