Anthony Martial was without a doubt, one of United’s best players last season, and some new stats have further explained the impact the Frenchman had for the club.
Martial scored a total of 23 goals for Man United across all competitions last season, with 17 of them coming in the Premier League.
According to Transfermarkt, the 24 year old scored 6 match-winning goals for United in the just ended Premier League campaign, winning a total of 18 points for the club.
Some of Martial’s notable goals came against Manchester City, home and away, and Chelsea, away.
The forward’s goals were not all United had in those matches, but they are regarded as match winners because they were instrumental in helping the club secure victory.
Martial also had some impressive performances in Europe, where he scored United’s lone goal in the victory over Partizan Belgrade during the group stages of the Europa League last year.
For a man who was often slammed for ‘not doing enough’ for United, this was quite a way to respond, and we’re hopeful next season is better for him.
