Manchester United could be making £15 million in the coming days, if Crystal Palace successfully sell Wilfred Zaha for at least, £60 million.
Zaha’s future at Palace is doubtful, after yet another underwhelming season with them.
According to reports, the Ivorian is keen on a move elsewhere, to win trophies and enjoy more career success.
Arsenal is one of the clubs to be linked with the former Man United star recently, and if the deal pulls through, we could be pocketing some sell-on profit.
The reason for this is because part of the contract terms with Palace when they came for Zaha in 2014 was that United would be entitled to 25% of the profits if he’s sold to another side in future.
Zaha was close to leaving last summer, and the profit could have been bigger, as he was valued at £100 million at that time.
Palace boss, Roy Hodgson, has already confirmed the 27 year old wants to leave, while expressing hope he has a change of heart.
He said to reporters: “It’s a dilemma for the club and a dilemma for him [Zaha] if he is so set on leaving. If he feels he just does not want to be with us any more, that would be sad. We still like him very much; we can’t make him like us.”
