James Maddison and Jack Grealish are two midfield targets to have been strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford. However, it seems that United might have to settle only for Grealish.
Manchester United’s hopes of landing top-rated midfielder, James Maddison, appears to have been dashed, as reports say the talented player is set for a contract extension with Leicester City.
Maddison was one of the many names linked with United for months before he sustained an injury toward the end of the season.
The midfielder has been with the Foxes for two years now, and has contributed 23 goals to them within that period.
Leicester are aware of United’s interest, and now, reportedly want to tie him down for another five years, in a contract that will see him earn £100k a week, which is double what he is currently earning.
Meanwhile, Maddison will be hopeful of rejoining his teammates in training soon, after getting surgery to treat the hip injury he sustained back in June.
