Despite helping seal a top four finish for Manchester United, Jesse Lingard may well be on his way out of the club.
According to a report on The Times, United want to offload the midfielder this summer, after an underwhelming season from him.
Lingard only scored 4 goals throughout the season, including the one he got on Sunday, which was his sole goal in the Premier League this season, and for a player who earns £100k a week, that is unacceptable.
United have already identified Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho and Jack Grealish of Aston Villa as targets this summer, which means the Lingard would further fall down the pecking order.
AS Roma and Borussia Monchengladbach are among the clubs who have indicated interest in signing Lingard, with Newcastle also said to be in the running.
The report further adds that the 27 year old is desperate to impress his potential suitors by putting on his best in the coming days.
It’s been reported that Olé Gunnar Solskjaer will play a weakened team in the Europa League, and Lingard sees it as an opportunity to increase his value and possibly get a decent deal.
