The future of David De Gea may be up in the balance, as Manchester Evening News claims Manchester United are searching for a scouting analyst, that specialises in goalkeepers.
De Gea’s performances were unstable in the concluded season, as he made a string of errors that cost the club valuable points.
Many have called for the Spain international to be axed from the team, and Dean Henderson, who spent last season impressing on loan at Sheffield United, recalled.
But MEN reports it is unlikely Henderson will be recalled for now, as he’s expected to spend another season on loan at Sheffield United, after getting a new contract with United.
Current number two, Sergio Romero, is also said to be on his way out of Old Trafford, which means that United are either looking to dump De Gea or sign another goalkeeper to serve as backup.
Meanwhile, the Red Devils have been linked with some top shotstoppers in recent times, including Jan Oblak of Atletico Madrid.
