Only one Manchester United player makes it to Premier League team of the season
Manchester United defender, Harry Maguire, has been included in Gareth Crooks’ Premier League Team of the Season, alongside other heavyweights in the division.
The United captain is the only player from the club to make the list, despite the impact of other players like Bruno Fernandes, Mason Greenwood and Anthony Martial.
Speaking on why he chose Maguire, Crooks said the former Leicester man carried United on his back, before Fernandes came in January.
In his own words: “Maguire, on the other hand, actually carried Manchester United until Bruno Fernandes burst onto the scene. Not to acknowledge Maguire’s contribution to United’s top-four achievement would have been an outrage. That is why I have selected the England centre-back in my team of the season.”
Meanwhile, also represented on the BBC’s EPL team of the year, are, Liverpool, with five players, Manchester City, with three, and Arsenal and Leicester, with one each.
