Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof has told his teammates they must now focus on winning trophies, after their recent success in the Premier League.
Manchester United finished third, to qualify for next season’s edition of the Champions League, after beating Leicester City 2-0 thanks to goals from Bruno Fernandes and Jesse Lingard.
And Lindelof believes it is important to maintain the level of intensity and morale in the team at the moment, and translate it into trophies for the club.
Speaking to MUTV after the victory on Sunday, the Swede said: “When you play for this club, you should always play in the Champions League as a minimum.
“Now we’re back and it’s time for us to start winning trophies as well because we have to do that. We have one trophy left to win this season and that should always be the mentality, to win trophies.”
Lindelof is absolutely right. With United no longer involved in the FA Cup and the League Cup already in City’s possession, we must put all we have in winning the Europa League. That would be a fitting way to end an already positive season.
