Fred has warned Manchester United must be wary of Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy, if we want to finish in the top four this season.
United will meet Leicester City on the final day of the 2019/20 Premier League season, needing at least a point, to seal a place in next season’s UEFA Champions League.
Leicester City was recently hit with an injury crisis, and most of their players are not expected to be available for the match, including important players like Ben Chilwell, James Maddison, Ricardo Pereira and Marc Albrighton. But the Foxes still have a lot of threat in them, especially in Premier League leading top scorer, James Vardy.
The 33 year old has netted 23 times this season, and Fred believes he can deny United on Sunday.
The Brazilian said on MUTV: “He’s (Vardy) not the top scorer just by chance.
“So we need to nullify his threat. He’s a top player and he’s having a great season. We need to take a lot of care with him. He’s a very good player, we need to think about his goal threat, but we have very good players in defence who are capable of nullifying him.”
United have already met Leicester City this season, and thankfully, we beat them 1-0 on that occasion, but the stakes are clearly higher now, and extra caution must be applied.
