Manchester United beat Crystal Palace 2-0 at Selhurst Park, to keep hopes for a top four finish alive.
Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial were on target again for United, but Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba pulled the strings from midfield.
Michael Owen was particularly full of praise for the in-form Pogba, who has been excellent since the restart, and when asked if Bruno Fernandes has rekindled the spark in the Frenchman, the ex- Liverpool man said: “It’s hard to say because when you’re a World Cup winner and such a talented player you’d think he could deal with any type of pressure.
“However it does seem that he’s more relaxed with the attention elsewhere. You know sometimes you see players score goals or a great piece of skill but there’s no player that can do things like this that Paul Pogba can do.
“He’s unique. absolutely unique. He’s absolutely brilliant. He’s strong, he’s quick, he can pass it, he can score, he can head it he can do virtually everything on a football pitch.
“I guess that’s why we’re always talking about him because there’s a frustration with him sometimes. Why he hasn’t been at the top of his game since he’s been at United?
Pogba starred for United on Thursday evening, and could have earned us a penalty, had referee, Graham Scott not denied our appeal.
Meanwhile, Bruno Fernandes was equally impressive, and provided an assist, to take his total to 8.
