Former coach of the England national women’s team and Manchester United legend, Phil Neville, believes Manchester United’s front three of Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood, is the best in the Premier League at the moment.
All three forwards have been in scintillating form this season, and currently enjoy an impressive 62 goals between them.
Rashford and Martial were both on target, as United beat Crystal Palace 2-0 at Selhurst Park, to move level on points (62) with Leicester, taking their individual tallies for the season to 22 goals.
Greenwood didn’t score on Thursday, but has been on fire himself, with four goals for United since the restart, to make it a total of 18 goals this season.
Speaking on Match of the day recently, Phil Neville said of the trio: “I looked at it at the start of the lockdown and thought, ‘What areas do United need to invest in to close the gap to Man City and Liverpool?”
“Straight away I thought of the centre-forward [position]. But them two are now causing Ole that big of a problem.
“They’re the best three – with Greenwood – in the league, up there with the Liverpool front three and the City front three. I think they have the ability to interchange positions and link with each other. I don’t see any better.”
United have at least five matches in all competitions left to play before the season ends, which means these lads have all the time in the world to keep scoring and increase their tallies for the campaign.
We have been particularly happy for Rashford and Martial, who were criticised in the past for not being ‘good enough’ for United.
