According to a report by Football Insider, Manchester United are plotting a shock move to sign former Burnley midfielder Jeff Hendrick on a free transfer.
The Red Devils are said to be keeping close tabs on the 28-year-old who recently left the Premier League side after rejecting a contract extension.
Hendrick’s free transfer situation and his ability to play in many different positions has made his transfer appealing to Manchester United.
He can play anywhere in midfield, be it an attacking or defensive role, as well as being able to slot in as a right-back.
The likes of AC Milan, Inter Milan and Newcastle United are also said to be in the race to sign him in the summer.
Hendrick made 139 appearances for Burnley in his time at the club, scoring 10 goals and managing 7 assists.
