The race for Champions League football is getting tougher by the days, and Manchester United now appears to face an uphill task to qualify for the competition, after Chelsea’s recent win over Norwich City.
The Blues beat Norwich 1-0 on Tuesday, to move to 63 points on the table, and solidify their place in third, which means that Man United now trail the London club by 4 points, and need to win twice to go past them.
Meanwhile, Leicester City are level on points with United, but lead through a marginally superior goal difference.
Both United and the Foxes will play our 36th games of the season on Thursday in search of Champions League football, and for us, the match is a very important one because a win, which is all we should aim for if we want to move to within a point of Chelsea, and possibly beat Leicester City on the table.
Of course, it won’t be an easy encounter, especially, with what we saw Crystal Palace do to Chelsea last week, but it is a must-win, and we need to give it our all from the first blow of the whistle.
United lost a good opportunity to go past Chelsea and Leicester City, but suffered a late goal against Southampton.
