Manchester United legend Paul Scholes could not hold his fury, and slammed Victor Lindelof for allowing himself to be bullied against Southampton.

United had a chance to go third on the league table tonight, after both Chelsea and Leicester City lost last weekend, but couldn’t hold on to the lead, as Michael Obafemi reacted quickly to a flick from a corner, to ensure the Saints remain unbeaten in their last four matches.

Speaking to Premier League Productions after the match, Scholes said Lindelof could have done better to deny the Irishman.

In his own words: “Lindelof I think has to be a stronger there’.

“He has to be goal side. He allows himself to get a little bit bullied by the centre forward as he manages gets a foot in.

“I don’t think Lindelof really reads the danger there as he should do as a centre half.”

United had to finish the game with 10 men, after Brandon Williams got injured in the dying stages of the encounter.
