Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer hailed Anthony Martial for his superb performance in our 2-2 draw against Southampton.
Stuart Armstrong gave the Saints the lead, but goals from Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford looked to have given United the three points, before Michael Obafemi’s last-minute equaliser ensured the game finished even.
But Martial was impressive as he set up Rashford to score and also scored himself. It was his 21st goal of the campaign and Solskjaer praised the striker for his contributions.
Asked if he was annoyed about his side’s finishing like he was after Thursday’s 3-0 win against Aston Villa, Solskjaer said: “Yeah if you get the two-goal cushion that’s a different ball game but two fantastic goals.
“Anthony I thought he was excellent today, absolutely top class.
“Especially the second goal that’s how we want to play football. Fast, quick, through the pitch and a very good finish.”
Despite failing to move into the top four, the draw extended our unbeaten run to 18 matches.
