Former Liverpool defender, Harry Kewell has opined that if Manchester United were to sign another striker alongside Borussia Dortmund star, Jadon Sancho, lots of teams in the Premier League would be scared of us.
Speaking to Premier League Productions about possible United signings, Kewell said: “Look, I’m a huge fan of Martial’s, I think he’s been fantastic since the return.
“But I still think United need a, I don’t know, like a [Ruud] Van Nistelrooy, someone that’s just a proven goalscorer.
“I think if they have that then Martial can play out wide as well and if you did get someone like Sancho as well it kind of, when you’re looking at the bench then, you’re thinking as a manager: ‘Well we can stop them but if they change that oh my God they can bring him on, or they can bring him on’
“And that then can start to scare a lot of other teams.”
United is obviously interested in Sancho, but the player’s club has made a deal difficult, by asking for an outrageous sum despite the coronavirus’ impact on football’s economy.
As for another striker, we doubt that will happen now, seeing as we already have Ighalo, and Ed Woodward’s recent announcement there’ll be careful spending in this transfer window.
