Manchester United legend Roy Keane has hailed the performance of Mason Greenwood in our huge win over Aston Villa on Thursday night.
We extended our unbeaten run to 17 matches in all competitions following a 3-0 victory and in the process became the first team to win three consecutive Premier League matches by a margin of three or more goals.
Greenwood claimed a second successive man of the match award, scoring his 16th goal of the season in an impressive breakthrough campaign.
Keane hopes Greenwood is able to maintain focus and continue his development.
“The best part of playing football is scoring goals,” he said on Sky Sports. “He’s 18 years of age and playing for Manchester United, he’s scoring goals.
“Good luck to the kid. That’s what dreams are made of. You just hope obviously he’s got good people around him. [He needs to] keep that hunger.
“United are starting to get exciting again. It’s been well documented in the last few years they’ve lost their DNA.
“But players like this kid are getting Man Utd back to exciting football, scoring goals. [There’s] Plenty to do yet in terms of winning league titles, but there’s momentum back in the club.
“You’ve got young kids playing like that with as smile on their faces, good luck to them, that’s what the game is all about.”
