Manchester United and Manchester City are reportedly set to battle it out for two of Europe’s best centre-backs, in Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly and Inter Milan’s Milan Skriniar.
According to The Independent, both players have been in United’s radar for a while, but City have recently entered the picture too, as they try to replace the departed Vincent Kompany.
Koulibaly is said to be Pep Guardiola’s main target, but Inter Milan is keen to seal a swap deal involving Sergio Aguero and Skriniar.
Both players are obviously very talented, but Skriniar would perhaps be the cheaper to buy, with Napoli looking to sell their Senegalese ace for about £70 million.
Should the deal for either of the two players not happen for any reason, United could go for RB Leipzig Dayot Upamecano or Joe Rodon of Swansea City.
