Manchester United legend Andy Cole has hailed Mason Greenwood as a super talent and also claimed the youngster is living to his manager’s praise of him being a lethal finisher.
Greenwood was once again on the scoresheet with a brace in our 5-2 victory at home to Bournemouth last weekend.
The 18-year-old striker now has 15 goals in all competitions this season.
Cole feels the attacker has handled the pressure and expectation brilliantly in his breakthrough season.
“I’m listening to Ole saying that he’s the best finisher in the club and, at 18 years of age, if the manager is giving you those kind of plaudits, those kind of things can weigh really heavy,” the ex-United striker said in latest edition of MUTV’s Group Chat series.
“But he’s taking everything in his stride.
“Every time he’s gone out there, he’s never let anyone down and now the goals are flying in from left or right foot.”
Cole added: “To see Mason doing so well and getting the goals he’s getting has been fantastic and long may it continue.
“And we have to take our hats off to Ole because Manchester United are playing like Manchester United.
“They look like they’re going to score a lot of goals, they’re creating chances and the boys in midfield are playing really, really well.”
On his goals against Bournemouth, Cole said: “It’s freakish. He can go either side and you know he’s going to produce that kind of quality.
“The two goals he got were very, very special so long may it continue with the boy.
“He’s still learning his trade but every time he gets the opportunity he shows everyone what a good player he is.
“He looks very level-headed as well which is a big, big thing and he will be a Manchester United player for many years to come.”
