Borussia Dortmund are on the verge of agreeing a five-year deal to sign Birmingham City’s Jude Bellingham.
Chelsea, Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund have all been strongly linked with the wonderkid, but Dortmund are believed to have won the race to sign the teenager.
Bellingham became Birmingham’s youngest ever player when he made his debut aged 16 and has attracted interest from many of Europe’s top sides including the likes of Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.
United made all the moves to sign Bellingham, including offering him a tour of their training ground with Sir Alex Ferguson. However, Bellingham has chosen Dortmund due to the club’s long history of developing young talents and their policy of giving youth the chance to play in the Bundesliga.
Meanwhile, sports journalist Duncan Castles, has revealed that Manchester United are considering using our interest in Jude Bellingham to get Borussia Dortmund to sell us Jadon Sancho.
He said while speaking recently on The Transfer Window Podcast: “There are suggestions that Man United may try and take Bellingham’s future into the negotiations with Dortmund.
“They want to strike an arrangement where they would allow Dortmund access to Bellingham in return for Dortmund selling them [United] Sancho for the correct price.”
Although Bellingham is yet to sign a professional contract with Birmingham City, reports claim the Championship side will receive a transfer fee in excess of £21m.
