Man United manager, Olé Gunnar Solskjaer, has reiterated the importance of Odion Ighalo to the club, after yet another impressive performance from the Nigerian over the weekend.
The 31 year old was on target for United on Saturday, as we beat Norwich City 2-1 at Carrow Road, and has attracted plaudits from both fans and his boss.
Speaking after the victory on Saturday, Solskjaer said of Ighalo: “He’s very important, that was important for me [that we extended his loan], we worked hard to do it. Odion knows how much we value him in and around the dressing room.
“He’s a goalscorer, a poacher, he’s strong, we can play the ball into him, he showed for the second and Paul found him. He’s performing well but it also gives me the chance to rotate with Marcus, Anthony and Mason so they can get a rest and we’re fresh for every game.”
Ighalo got his fourth goal in just four starts for United in Saturday’s win, and now becomes only the second player in history to achieve the rare feat.
